West Project Director Focus: For the West Project Director, Preference is given for candidates with combined cycle plant experience and gigawatt-scale project management, noting that this is a higher order of magnitude compared to typical projects.
Company Overview:
We are seeking experienced Project Directors to lead large-scale power generation projects across the U.S. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record managing complex, multidisciplinary teams and full EPC lifecycle projects, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results on schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee large-scale power generation projects (gigawatt scale), including simple and combined cycle plants.
Manage multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, and construction managers.
Serve as a key communicator with executives, internal teams, and external vendors, inspiring and motivating teams through challenging phases.
Oversee full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) lifecycle, including schedule, budget, and critical path management.
Collaborate with internal teams (35-50 members) and external vendors (30-40) to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
Navigate ambiguity and adapt to changes in project scope, design, or execution.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 7 years in engineering, project controls, commercial development, operations, or project management within the oil & gas industry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex projects (>1 GW for East; combined cycle and gigawatt-scale for West).
Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and motivational skills.
Robust industry network and technical/project controls background preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
PMP certification preferred. PE licensure is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Oracle Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
Core competencies in technical engineering or project controls, with ability to leverage team expertise in other areas.
