Job Summary
Supports the Manufacturing Division by creating and deploying visually intuitive technical training, documentation, orientation material and other related communication. Ensures effective communication of Company information to all manufacturing Associates to improve technical proficiency and process adherence.
*Schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 10:30am-9:30pm.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Based on input from Manufacturing and Support groups, create technical documentation such as work instructions, training material, procedures manuals, specifications, process documentation, and instruction manuals for Manufacturing Division Associates. Collaborate with Learning and Development regarding required and recommended training and relevant resources.
- Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience and meets standards regarding clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Find a proper balance between written, pictorial, and video instruction.
- Publish and maintain templates for written documentation, ensuring consistency.
- Observe and document Manufacturing and Product Development activities and work with Manufacturing staff to determine operating procedures and details.
- Develops/maintains methodology for document storage that ensures efficient retrieval.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, standards, guidelines, templates, and internal tools for technical writing and document creation.
- Collaborate with Corporate partners and manufacturing leadership to facilitate new hire orientation for manufacturing Associates, including safety procedures, policies, etc.
- Facilitate effective communication of Company information throughout manufacturing plants to all Associates. Collaborate with Internal Communications regarding publishing and disseminating manufacturing or related information to Associates.
- Maintain records of Associate training in tools such as Cornerstone.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Comfortable presenting information to small and large groups.
- Excellent documentation skills and ability to clearly express visually effective work instructions.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours and schedules as needed.
- Ability to travel to other manufacturing locations as business need requires.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as an effective technical communicator, trainer or in a function requiring written and verbal communication of complex concepts.
- Experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
- Proven experience with digital content development & management.
- Experience utilizing digital authoring tools.
- Bilingual – English and Spanish.
