RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS  

  • Physically receives and records all packaging materials in the company's inventory system 
  • Must understand labeling and lot system for product packaging 
  • Conducts inventory counts, rotation, and transferring tasks, as required, and enters counts into the inventory control system using RF scanners 
  • Monitors, verifies, and maintains inventory levels using the existing inventory system 
  • Maintain system data integrity and ensure entries follow defined nomenclature to support competitive sourcing events 
  • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) and maintain the certification 
  • May be required to supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees in the absence of the Supervisor under the direction of the departmental Manager  
  • Participates in department and company efforts to achieve goals and objectives  
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates with department leaders and operations management to ensure the position provides a high level of customer service and accountability 
  • Complies with all food safety and workplace safety practices and procedures 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Packaging and inventory experience, including mathematics and ability to interpret varying units of measure 
  • Work experience in purchasing, materials management, or other related fields in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment is preferred. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills or similar applications, and M3 or other inventory control system experience preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English required bi-lingual a plus. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The employee must frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold, and humid conditions. Consistently working in environments ranging from +35 to -20 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level that requires the OSHA required hearing protection.  

 

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
