The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for a One Stop Counselor. 

Responsibilities

Counselor to ensure adequate staffing for students, faculty, and staff to be served by the one-stop service center. 
Provide an exceptional, seamless service experience that supports student success and institutional goals of recruitment, retention, and graduation.
Investigates eligibility and disbursement issues related to loans, grants, scholarships, and federal work study. 
Collects and reviews documentation for financial appeals and verification, ensuring all documents required are sufficient and complete.
Reviews and updates financial aid verification document processing as needed.
Counsels and advises students and parents regarding in-depth financial aid questions concerning FAFSA applications, financial aid eligibility and disbursement of aid, as well as cost of attendance figures, differences and benefits of different types of aid, and explanation of expected family contribution.
Reviews, analyzes, interprets student account activity, credits, debits, adjustments, and statements.
Assists students in setting up a deferred payment plan.
Assist students requesting to add money to their Skyhawk card or move their remaining bookstore advance.
Assist with training students on the front counter for customer service, Banner and financial aid information to ensure accuracy and thorough customer service.
Advises students and parents regarding financial refunds and charges, including set-up of refund accounts.
Advise students, faculty, and staff of various requirements for each type of fee waiver.
Ensure account payments are correctly applied to charges and correct where needed.
Assists with document scanning and imaging.
Post scholarship and other checks received in the mail to student accounts.
Attend training sessions to keep up to date with Banner, IRIS, Concur and university policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Effective written and oral communications skills
Excellent human relations and organizational skills
Proficient knowledge in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Ability to work well with others in the work environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree
