GENERAL SUMMARY:
Saginaw Public Schools Pre-K Enrollment/Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting with the development of marketing the District’s Pre-K/Early Childhood program. Maintains enrollment data on future students and retention of current students.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs: excel, word, power point and publisher.
2. Knowledge of Skyward Student Software Program.
3. Knowledge of Pupil Enrollment procedures as required by Early Childhood and MDE.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as support and resource person for Saginaw Public School District families of preschool children entering the Prekindergarten.
2. Work in conjunction with Great Start Readiness Program in Saginaw County to provide families with accurate information about available early education and care and family programming and services.
3. Provide and review preschool application forms; assist families in applying for enrollment in SPS classrooms.
4. Assign students to appropriate schools under direction of the Early Childhood Director and the guidelines of the Midland County ESA Consortium.
5. Maintain SPSD program wait list; refer to Midland County ESA Consortium wait list, if appropriate.
6. Collect, input and maintain accurate family and student data.
7. Provide families with exemplary customer service; provide information on SPS and other community based programs.
8. Assist families in accessing comprehensive services for their children; offer information and referrals for all family needs including health care, housing, nutritional needs, etc.
9. Make families aware of education and early literacy activities and classes in Saginaw Public Schools especially those hosted by Saginaw Public Schools Parent Advisory and the Great Start Collaborative.
10. Assist with on-site Early Registration for students transitioning into kindergarten.
11. Assist in city-wide kindergarten information session planning and implementation.
12. Work as part of the Early Childhood team, attending Parent Advisory Meetings and other related meetings when required.
13. Be available to facilitate workshops at times convenient for families. This may include evening and weekend hours.
14. Use modeling and coaching techniques that allow parents and families to build on existing strengths.
15. Create brochures, calendars and other paraphernalia.
16. Update website to assist with recruitment and retainment.
17. Has a good eye for a commercial, PowerPoint or short jingles.
18. Can work positively with the competition and create interest in our program.
19. Can work as a team, aiming to keep morale high.
20. Coordinate year-long formative assessments and interest surveys.
21. Develop survey instruments.
22. Conduct professional development in the areas of testing and assessment.
23. Analyze assessment and measurement data using a variety of media.
24. Organize data storage and retrieval.
25. Other duties as assigned by Early Childhood Director in adherence to GSRP Implementation Manual.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Must have experience working with families in a school and home setting
2. Must have above average speaking & presentation skills and writing skills
3. Must have above average grammar and writing skills
4. Must have knowledge of early childhood development, and early literacy
5. Associates degree in Business/Marketing or Early Childhood Education and experience working in a diverse setting.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or relevant field preferred.
