About the Department
This position is responsible for the effective operations of the Court, the implementation of policies established by the judge, through the direction of the Court Administrator. This includes maintaining accurate records for the Court, preparing monthly trial dockets for the court, issuing warrants, processing payments, and assisting with citizens requests.
Position Duties
The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individual(s) assigned to this position. - Maintain communications with other Town departments, such as the Police Department, to ensure the proper dissemination of necessary information, communicating with the Judge and Town Prosecutor for support in case flow management and trial docket preparation.
- Prepare, issue and process payments for citations and warrants
- Assist the public with inquiries about court proceedings through telephone and walk-in citizens and schedules cases according to Court policy.
- Organize, transmit, and store documents related to the Municipal Court such as payment plans, deferred dispositions, complaints, requests for court dates and attorney documents.
- Evaluate customer satisfaction, develops cooperative associations, and utilizes resources to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual(s) must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge:
- Must have considerable knowledge of court terminology and courtroom functions, providing clients and defendants with information concerning procedure and their rights.
- Knowledge of municipal government organization and functions and Town operations.
- Has good knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Has advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as INCODE Court Case Management System.

- Remains organized and prioritize work.
- Uses time effectively to accomplish tasks.
