What You Will Do:

  • Participates in on-the-job training, actively working toward competence in polysomnography.
  • Obtains 546 clinic hours and board registration as a Registered Polysomnography Technologist within two years of hire.
  • Collaborates with other professional disciplines to endure holistic patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Explains testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Monitor patients comfort and safety during testing; responds to sleep pathology with appropriate interventions.
  • Proficient in the use polysomnography testing equipment and treatment protocols
  • Completes and maintains patient’s EMR/chart documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keeps Lead Technologist and/or Director well informed of pertinent information relating to work issues and changes within the work environment that impact service.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot the patient schedule, verify insurance, and complete patient registration.
  • Participates in community wellness and disease specific education programs.

What You Will Need:

  • Currently has a healthcare credential recognized by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
  • Becomes board registered within one year of hire.
