Systems Analyst Intern at Bellevue University

Primary Function: The Systems Analyst Intern will serve as a support system to the Systems Analysts who act as a liaison between the Business community and the Agile Delivery team. The Systems Analyst Intern supports key roles within the organization across many disciplines within the Agile lifecycle, including requirements gathering, documentation, analysis, design, configuration, testing, and operational support.
By leveraging a vast technology tool kit to support the design, integration, and enhancement of existing systems, the Systems Analyst Intern supports the improvement of operational performance, adding new features and functionality, and automating processes for improved business efficiency and productivity.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the Systems Analysts in assessing new IT projects and supporting and enhancing existing University enterprise systems.
- Under the supervision and guidance of the Systems Analyst, works closely with business partners supporting the needs of the business and within an Agile Team.
- Supports the creation and review of functional and technical specifications for business processes.
- Supports the process changes including integration of system capabilities and workflows.
- Supports the development of procedures and system documentation for program/process developments or modifications.
- Supports the resolution of production issues by assisting with the Evaluation of enterprise issues and impacts, documenting processes and procedures, and maintaining communication processes through all levels of management.
- Supports the configuration of system settings and options.
- Supports the planning and execution of unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creation of specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
- Supports the development, coordination, and implementation of plans to test business and functional processes during system development and maintenance.
- Supports the Research, analysis, design and implementation of security setup and protection following standard security practices including user access controls, system access and security settings.
- Supports the planning and development of strategy for the implementation of system security in alignment with technical requirements and business objectives.
Position Qualifications:
- Must be an active student pursuing a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in an IT, IS or related field OR be a recent graduate of a technical degree and wishing to obtain practical training OR be an F-1 Visa holder who is approved for Optional Practical Training (OPT) status.
Skills & Abilities
Experience:
- Intermediate proficiency using java. Programming experience a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with Academic Systems a Plus.
- Intermediate experience working with Oracle Peoplesoft.
- Intermediate project coordinator experience.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Intermediate working knowledge and skills with SQL, Microsoft Office Suite and Internet software preferred.
- Intermediate working knowledge of database and/or project management software applications.
