JOB SUMMARY

A Stockroom Manager at Doble Engineering will be responsible for coordinating the activities of other stockroom personnel for receiving, stocking, kitting, and inventory control of materials, supplies and equipment used in the daily operations of Doble’s manufacturing facility. This role will be located at our Accident, Maryland site and will report to the Director of Operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the supervision and management of team of stockroom personnel including Stockroom Clerks and Customer Service & Support Planners
  • Prepares yearly performance evaluations for all direct reports
  • Directs, monitors, and reconciles daily cycle counts
  • Assumes the role of supervisor for SEO order picking/reservation function, covering and helping as needed
  • Provides facilities management support including fork truck and stock picker training and maintenance
  • Manages materials and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments.
  • Provides cycle count audit support and responds to information and document requests from Auditor
  • Trains and supervises stockroom personnel on care of material received, stored, and shipped, as well as methods of use for equipment used in these processes
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow via written and oral instructions
  • Investigates the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock records and implement corrective actions
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and determine adequacy of certain stock levels
  • Plans the layout of stockroom and other warehouses or storage areas concerning turnover, size, weight and other related factors including consolidation of space
  • Responsible for the Kan-Ban system, analyze and report any stocking issues
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to procedures
  • Provides support of kitting operations, sales order fulfillment, and daily requirements for outsourcing, repair and rental operations and daily transaction postings 
  • Maintains compliance with Standard Operating Policies and ISO procedures which relate to Stockroom operations
  • Assigns and covers the Stockroom Window operations
  • Related duties as assigned by Materials Manager or Senior Director of Operations
  • Automation of the stockroom activities including barcoding
  • Coordination of physical inventory counts as required

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High School or GED or Some College (preferred, but not required)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 plus years’ experience working in a stockroom environment
  • 5 years of experience managing and supervising personnel in a stockroom, or similar, environment
  • Experience working with an ERP System
  • Familiar with cycle count and Kan-Ban processes and procedures
  • Management of remote inventory locations including inventory at contract manufacturers
  • Certified to operate a forklift

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

  • Lean manufacturing experience helpful
  • APICS Certification Helpful
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Navision

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Word experience required
  • Effectively communicate orally and written with various functions and levels of the organization within Doble
  • Well-organized and have the ability to multi-task and to be proficient at time management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Salary Pay Range Minimum $63,470.94 - Midpoint $79,338.67
