Internship Program Mission: 

To engage in the selection of undergraduate and graduate talent (in specific roles, advanced degrees) for an internship with HAI Group designed to support each student’s focus of study by evoking the utilization of acquired knowledge, theory, and skills for practical application at work. 

Internship Overview: 

HAI Group is seeking a motivated and organized undergraduate or graduate student in business administration/management, management information systems (MIS), information technology/information systems, computer science, data analytics/statistics or other relevant degrees. As the Business Analyst intern you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Product Management and Development and engage on daily basis with the Senior Business Solutions Analysts on the team to assist in agile project delivery and production support activities. You will gain experience with SAFe Agile project delivery and exposure to full software development lifecycle and practical knowledge of production support processes and incident management. 

This is a full-time, paid internship that is required to be on-site in the HAI Group office, located in Cheshire, CT, Monday–Friday. The internship program will run from June–August. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for IT projects.
  • Participate in the Agile project delivery process by joining sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
  • Work closely with product owners, developers, and testers in the life cycle of project and product delivery  
  • Create and maintain documentation such as process flows, requirements specifications, and user guides.
  • Help prepare test cases and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Work with IT team to understand production support activities, and support the team with triage, coordinating with IT teams to resolve incidents and follow ups. 
  • Observe the current state process and propose process or system improvements to prevent recurring issues.
  • Research industry trends, tools, and best practices for project delivery with SAFe Framework 
  • Prepare presentations and reports for business and IT stakeholders.

Academic Background:

Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in business administration/management, management information systems (MIS), information technology/information systems, computer science, data analytics/statistics or other related degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Competency with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) or similar. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple roles to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.


 Experience:

  • Prior work experience preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to Agil or Scrum team environments (through coursework, student clubs, or internships).
  • Experience creating process flows, documentation, or reports for school or work projects.
