We are looking for a new Collections Clerk in our Tulsa office. The successful candidate will:
- Manage the collection requirements for active accounts with balances below a specified amount and all non-term accounts.
- Prepare new account setup packages for Credit Rep review by obtaining bank and trade reference information through phone or email, obtaining D & B reports in U.S. and Canada, using the Internet to gather additional public information regarding the potential new customer’s business.
- Manage monthly reports for assigned accounts with balances and past due amounts greater than company standard terms.
- Reconcile A/R for their assigned accounts, managing credit holds, and disputes.
- Prepare Pro-forma invoices as needed for non-term accounts.
- Initiate weekly collection reviews on all past due accounts based upon established terms, ensuring risk/reward considerations are included in all decisions.
- Manage the collection letter process for their area and initiate credit hold and/or change of credit terms as outlined by the Corporate Credit Manager.
- Recommend escalation strategies to resolve disputes and/or risk concerns. When necessary, incorporate branch personnel into these strategies.
The Department hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position will cover the 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. shift.
Job Requirements
- Commercial collection experience a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to prioritize large volume of accounts and assigned tasks.
- Working knowledge and use of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Canadian credit and collection practices a plus.
