About the job: 

Kent is looking for a Senior Vice President, Business Development (SVP, BD) – Americas to join our Senior leadership team, based in Houston, TX. 

 

This leadership role will be responsible for driving strategic and revenue growth across Kent’s Americas Region, spanning consulting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.  You will oversee the identification, pursuit, and capture of high-value opportunities across both conventional and new energy markets, ensuring Kent remains a leading force in energy transition solutions.  Areas of coverage include Canada, the United States (predominantly Gulf of Mexico), Latin and South America.

Business Development & Strategy:

  • Lead enterprise-wide business development strategy to grow Kent’s footprint in EPC, consulting, commissioning, O&M, and decarbonization services
  • Develop strategic capture plans for major pursuits in markets including LNG, Refining, Chemical, Integrated Gas, CCS, Offshore Wind, Hydrogen, and Industrial Infrastructure
  • Cultivate executive relationships with major IOCs, NOCs, EPCs and Tier 1 blue chip Energy clients
  • Lead and develop market entry plans to emerging and growing countries
  • Build and grow Kents reputation as a premier EPCM Brownfield Engineering Company across the Americas

 

Executive Leadership & Team Oversight:

  • Manage a regional team of business development leaders and ensure alignment in terms of targets and strategy
  • Coach and mentor the sales team to elevate their skills in customer engagement, solution selling, negotiation and relationship management
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement in sales processes and outcomes 
  • Align business development activities with Kent’s sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation goals
  • Serve as executive sponsor for major pursuits, partnering with operations, engineering, and digital delivery teams
  • Represent Kent in industry forums, conferences, and client negotiations
  • Interface with all functional and operational leads on a day-to-day basis

 

Commercial Governance & Performance:

  • Responsible for pipeline development and delivery, forecasting, and reporting across the BD function
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to structure compliant, profitable, and risk-balanced commercial models
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and global energy trends to inform BD strategy
  • Work closely with the region’s leadership team to provide market insights, competitor analysis and sales forecasts

 

 

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

 

 

 

 

 
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:   

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: 

  • 20+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or energy-related services, with 10+ years at the executive or senior leadership level
  • Proven record of winning and delivering complex EPC, commissioning, or consulting contracts across the full project lifecycle
  • Deep familiarity with energy markets, including oil & gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, power, and low-carbon solutions across the Americas
  • Established network at with Kent core client base at middle and senior management level
  • Demonstrated experience in executive-level client engagement at a senior level, strategic partnerships, and commercial negotiations
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of risk, margin, and long-cycle project economics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline required
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with global procurement, project delivery frameworks, and cross-border contracting models is advantageous

  • Able to present complex commercial strategies to boards, investors, and senior stakeholders
  • Confident in cross-cultural negotiations and public speaking
