Saginaw Public Schools Additional Information: Show/Hide - Provides career and technical education (CTE) program instruction, program management and curriculum development.
- Develop high quality lessons and lab activities which provide the basis for rich student learning, using real life experiences, outside experts, and other industry resources whenever possible.
- Prepare students for certification and testing.
- Maintains a current advisory committee involved in business and industry.
- Demonstrates leadership involvement with BPA, which is a co-curricular student organization.
- Provides leadership role in the development of professional and post-secondary partnerships.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the student.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Employs a variety of instructional
- techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the locations provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports.
- Maintains accurate, complete, correct records, and program documentation as required by law and district policy.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Standard/Professional CTE Certificate or Prov/Prof Certificate with VB or VM
- OR
- Two years (4,000 hours) recent, relevant work experience in the information technology field, to qualify for annual career authorization.
- Ability to work with high school population to include extracurricular activities such as student clubs (BPA), fundraisers and other events.
- Effective leadership skills to include: program development, strong communication skills, program marketing to the community, presentation skills and school committee involvement.
- Ability to effectively develop curriculum and lesson plans that address state approved automotive technology standards in maintenance and light repair
- Ability to network within the community, develop partnerships, an advisory committee, and assist in the development of work-based learning sites for students.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Saginaw Public Schools Career and Technical Education instructors are responsible for providing high quality instruction to high school students in classroom and lab settings that help students develop the skills, knowledge, and work habits required for employment and future learning in the automotive industry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of estimation and billing for the purpose of training students.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to think through situations and make reasonable decisions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver’s License required.

Develop and successfully maintain program budget
CURRICULA RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and implement an instructional program and delivery system that will prepare students to meet industry recognized requirements for employment and continuing education
METHOD OF EVALUATION:
The Building Administrator evaluates this position every year. The evaluation form is available from the Human Resources and Labor Relations Department.
