Information Technology and Cybersecurity Instructor presso Saginaw Public Schools

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

1. Provides career and technical education (CTE) program instruction, program management and curriculum development.
2. Develop high quality lessons and lab activities which provide the basis for rich student learning, using real life experiences, outside experts, and other industry resources whenever possible.
3. Prepare students for certification and testing.
4. Maintains a current advisory committee involved in business and industry.
5. Demonstrates leadership involvement with BPA, which is a co-curricular student organization.
6. Provides leadership role in the development of professional and post-secondary partnerships.
7. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the student.
8. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
9. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
10. Employs a variety of instructional
11. techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the locations provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
12. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports.
13. Maintains accurate, complete, correct records, and program documentation as required by law and district policy.
14. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.

1. Standard/Professional CTE Certificate or Prov/Prof Certificate with VB or VM
2. OR
3. Two years (4,000 hours) recent, relevant work experience in the information technology  field, to qualify for annual career authorization.
4. Ability to work with high school population to include extracurricular activities such as student clubs (BPA), fundraisers and other events. 
5. Effective leadership skills to include: program development, strong communication skills, program marketing to the community, presentation skills and school committee involvement.
6. Ability to effectively develop curriculum and lesson plans that address state approved automotive technology standards in maintenance and light repair 
7. Ability to network within the community, develop partnerships, an advisory committee, and assist in the development of work-based learning sites for students.

1. School environment where there may be physical discomfort due to temperature, dust or the like, depending on location of CTE program (i.e., computer lab vs. auto shop)
2. Noise level in this environment may be moderate to loud
