About the role
The Regional Business Manager - Northeast, Food Service Brands, is responsible for achievement of volume and profit objectives within the Northeastern United States. Reporting to the East Area Sales Director, the individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans against the core Food and Beverage brands. The individual will lead, coach, and manage a team of 3 Territory Managers to deliver incremental volume growth through targeted distributor and operator channels across the region.
What will you do?
- Develop and oversee regional strategy execution for both direct and indirect sales (pull) and distribution (push) strategies and initiatives.
- C-Suite relationships with key regional operators and top specialty distributor customers along with Sales Team Members (Territory Manager or Regional Chain Manager).
- Lead execution of initiatives and trainings with sales broker (CORE) by leveraging strategic relationships with Market Directors, managing critical monthly KPI’s and fostering collaboration with Territory Managers.
- Oversee account planning, call planning, pipeline development, opportunity development and sales lifecycle for all personnel in assigned region.
- Development and mentorship support for all personnel in assigned region.
- Relationships with area leadership in merchandising and category management.
- Approval and management of all fiscal impact decisions including in region promotions, deviations/pricing, trade spend, equipment placements and write offs.
- Alignment and collaboration with Distributor Development Team to ensure proper execution of corporate distributor and GPO initiatives and campaigns.
- Collaboration with Customer and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of brand strategies, channel plans, and go-to-market execution to achieve growth targets.
- Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure strong alignment towards achievement of trade spend budgets and profitability improvement targets aligned to Annual Operating Plan.
- Collaborate with Equipment Customer Care team to improve asset management processes and procedures to support the ongoing reduction of underperforming accounts.
- Conduit for region with Customer Care team.
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience leading, managing, and coaching direct sales teams.
- Strong foundational understanding of the Food Service industry as well as experience leading foodservice brokers.
- Proven track record with selling food and beverage products through various distribution channels and operator segments.
- Results oriented to top line volume and profit growth plus the ability to execute strategic and tactical plans.
- Capable of elevating team performance through proper management and coaching of key initiative execution, pipeline development, sales process improvement, and quota attainment.
- Creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans.
- Strong negotiation, business analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with Salesforce or other CRM’s.
- Availability to travel up to 40% within the region.
Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $123,859 to $213,784 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
