Overview: MarineMax seeks a seasoned and skilled Corporate Paralegal to assist with general corporate matters, including corporate maintenance, and litigation support.

Company: MarineMax is the world’s largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, selling new and used recreational boats, yachts, and related marine products and services, as well as providing yacht brokerage and charter services. Experience: MarineMax seeks a Corporate Paralegal with five years of experience acquired in a top law firm and/or in-house environment. There is a strong preference for in-house experience and public company board administration.

Location: Clearwater, Florida

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with MarineMax’s General Counsel, internal legal team, and outside counsel on all merger and acquisition activities, including, but not limited to: document collection, due diligence, and/or closing materials;
  • Collaborate with MarineMax’s General Counsel on the preparation and distribution of board materials, including minutes, board books, and Form 4 filings;
  • Utilize MarineMax’s electronic applications to ensure electronic disbursement of board materials;
  • Collaborate with the MarineMax’s Senior Paralegal on general corporate matters and maintenance, including qualifications and licenses. 
  • Contract administration – under in-house counsel’s supervision, prepare contract briefs and revisions summarizing contractual requirements and future deadlines and track authorizations, correspondence, and executed documents. 
  • Litigation support – perform document review, production, fact investigation, and legal hold distribution. 
  • Management of subpoena responses – responsible for receipt of service and document collection.

 

Qualifications Include

  • Excellent academic credentials, including a baccalaureate degree and/or a paralegal certificate; 
  • Five years of experience acquired in a AmLaw 100 environment and/or a well-respected in-house environment;
  • Fun & Sterling Attitude;
  • Command of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint (experience with SmartSheet, Diligent, and DocuSign a plus); 
  • Technical savvy and able to master new electronic applications quickly.
