We are looking for a knowledgeable and resourceful Human Resources Generalist to help support our HR team. This opportunity will report to our HR Director. If you are a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, this is the right place for you to grow your HR career. 

The HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring smooth and effective human resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This position covers various functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and HR policy implementation. The successful candidate will serve as a resource to employees and managers on HR inquiries, programs, and procedural matters.  

This is a full-time, in-office position located at our Milwaukee, WI office. Remote or hybrid work is not available.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection efforts by creating job postings, reviewing resumes, performing telephone and in-person interviews, conduct background/reference checks and extend offers
  • Work with hiring managers on recruiting strategies to achieve hiring goals
  • Update employee changes in HRIS system along with processing bi-weekly payrolls, including updating new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and changes in pay, deductions, or benefits.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies working proactively to correct payroll errors and recurrence.
  • Prepare, maintain and report on HR Metrics or analytics
  • Perform benefits administration to include change reporting, reviewing/auditing invoices, and communicating benefit information to employees, including assisting with annual open enrollment 
  • Organizes and facilitates new employee orientation sessions to promote engagement and alignment with company values and objectives
  • Support year-end processes, including auditing of payroll records, W-2, ACA tax forms.
  • Assist HR Director with annual audits by providing accurate payroll documentation as requested.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Act a resource for employees to address and resolve inquiries and problems relating to the human resources function.
  • Coordinate and complete external and internal HR-related surveys, such as compensation, benefits, etc, by gathering required data, ensuring accuracy, and submitting responses within specified deadlines.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of HR projects and other department initiatives
  • Ensure legal compliance with all federal and state regulations applicable to the human resources area

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related degree
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • 2-5 years of human resources experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast paced/dynamic environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS system
