As an Engineering Manager at Schroders Personal Wealth, you will be responsible for leading and empowering a team to deliver exceptional products and solutions. This includes working with stakeholders (and coaching others to effectively work with stakeholders) to understand requirements, design, develop, and implement technology strategies and solutions, as well as ensuring day-to-day operations is in place. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive innovation, deliver results, and support business objectives.Location | Leeds

Key Responsibilities
The role reports into the Head of Data and Digital Engineering and involves day-to-day responsibility for:
Team Leadership
Lead and manage a team of technology professionals, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and support to drive performance and achieve objectives.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, within and outside the Engineering and Technology team, to drive alignment and collaboration between technology and business needs.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to drive collaboration, value delivery and services as defined by the contract.
Manage demand for and oversee technology projects and initiatives, from conception to completion, including dependency management and conflict resolution.
Translation of the business strategy and product vision into a technology strategy working alongside key contributors
Operate as a member of the extended Leadership Team in the Technology function.
Platform Leadership
Own the platform delivery roadmap for the team to ensure currency of the platform and adherence to policies and standards though innovation, enhancements and maintenance.
Drive a continuous service improvement culture, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the status quo.
Promote the usage of tooling and automation within the teams for both technical and engagement.
Contribute and iterate the technology strategy ensuring our technology platforms are fit for purpose, the life cycle is managed in accordance with best practice and meet our policies and standards.
Lead the definition and implementation of engineering best practices, including coding standards and development methodologies, across the team.
Technology Governance and Assurance
Operate within the realms of the technology operating budgets including timely management of finances and resources.
Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of technology systems and data.
Manage risks for the platforms owned by maintaining and reporting on the software risks and associated controls.
Create or feed into management reporting, as needed, to provide appropriate governance and control to the function.
Qualifications & Skills
Significant experience in technology roles, with substantive experience in team leadership
Extensive and proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level technology solutions.
Experience leading technology projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering results.
Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet commitments.
Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
Proven communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
Experience of working in Financial Services in a regulated environment is highly desirable
Experience of working in Salesforce technologies and AWS are a plus
Relevant certifications and advanced degrees are a plus.
