The Impact you will have in this role:
The modernization program is underway targeting the most critical business systems across the firm; to support these efforts, Institutional Trade Processing (ITP) line of business is seeking to form a team of business systems analysts to surface current state of our ITP applications, partner with product management to challenge this, and document resulting business-centric and future-proof target state requirements that are fed to delivery teams for execution.
The Business Systems Analyst role specializes in acting as the main interface between Technology and ITP business / product areas, identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, crafting functional specifications for the project’s development teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Produce functional specifications by analyzing business requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams.
- Lead workflow design and contribute to user experience design, where applicable
- Collaborate with project team, product management, and collaborators on assigned aspects of the project.
- Review estimates of resource needs and schedule of work with related collaborators.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members by elaborating the necessary details required through all phases of projects.
- Participate in creating system documentation under company-specific best practices and standards.
- Recommend controls by identifying gaps and proposing opportunities for automation of processes.
- Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Talent needed for success
- Proficiency in all MS Office product offerings with a focus on Visio and Excel
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development (primarily Scrum) principles and techniques
- Understanding and practical use of applicable work management tools for decision making and collaboration (i.e. JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence).
- Experience working on multiple programs/projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from Collaborators
- Experience with JSON, XML, APIs, data validation, and/or data modeling a plus
- Work with multiple Collaborators to assemble functional requirements
- Knowledge of institutional trade processing (including Electronic Trade Confirmation, Matching, Straight Through Processing (STP)) and the trade lifecycle a plus
- Experience with Sell Side, Buy Side, and Custodian middle-office post-trade processing a plus
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and/or FIX a plus
Soft Skills Required:
- Clear communicator, with good verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and focus on most urgent tasks & work in a fast-paced IT environment.
- Not afraid to ask many questions, push back, or raise attention to risks or issues.
- A flexible, and proactive approach to track down resources to gather appropriate information.
- Comfortable working closely with team management to review approaches and requirements that solve the business problem.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
