Job Description:
The Program Coordinator supports the implementation and daily operations of the Next Generation Scholars program and College Preparation Intervention Program (CPIP) – comprehensive college preparation initiatives serving Baltimore City Schools and Baltimore County Public Schools. This role coordinates student services, manages program logistics, and provides direct support to participants and families while working collaboratively with campus partners, high school partners, and community-based organizations.
Essential Job Functions:
20 % A. Student Services Coordination – Manage participant recruitment, application review, and ongoing student support services, including tutoring coordination and academic progress monitoring.
20 % B. Program Operations – Coordinate transportation logistics, campus visits, family engagement events, and Summer Academy residential programming for 100 students across four or five Baltimore City and Baltimore County high schools.
20 % C. Event Planning – Organize and execute monthly campus programming, family workshops, college visits, and special events while ensuring compliance with safety and institutional policies.
20 % D. Partnership Liaison – Serve as the primary contact with Goucher campus partners, Baltimore City Schools, and Baltimore County Public Schools personnel, community partners, and family members, providing bilingual communication support as needed.
20 % E. Data Management – Maintain comprehensive student tracking systems, prepare progress reports, and support program evaluation efforts using Slate and other database systems.
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree
Professional Experience:
Required:
One year of administrative or program/event management experience in college access programming, student services, or K-12 education, or related field
Experience working with first-generation college students and the underrepresented population
Preferred:
Experience with Baltimore City Schools or urban education environments
Knowledge of the college admission and financial aid process
Event planning and logistics coordination experience
Experience working with diverse, multilingual families
Bilingual Reading, Writing, and Speaking Skills (Spanish / English)
Proficiency in database management systems and/or CRM (Slate)
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel (preferably including use of formulas, creating charts, and sorting data), and PowerPoint
This position requires the employee to operate a motor vehicle to perform essential job functions.
This position requires the employee to work weekends or evenings.
