Summary of the role & who we're looking for

Working in the world of care, we're dedicated to collaborating with our customers to provide care home products, consumables and furniture. We're looking to recruit a permanent, full time individual who is able to lead, coach, and inspire a team of Internal Sales Managers to meet KPIs and deliver outstanding service.


This pivotal role oversees a team of Internal Sales Managers, ensuring seamless coordination between internal operations and the field sales team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role previously, ideally within the care sector, and be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, positivity, and have excellent communication skills.

 

This role will require effective and proactive management and prioritisation of day-to-day tasks if business targets are to be achieved.  It will require a willingness to learn and develop new skills, a readiness to adapt to varying environments and people, and the ability to cope with different responsibilities, all whilst maintaining full effectiveness in the role.

Main responsibilities:


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of three Internal Sales Managers to meet KPIs and deliver outstanding service.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to support development and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Business Manager to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Manage team workload and priorities to ensure effective support for field sales.
  • Foster a positive, motivated team environment through clear communication and recognition.

 

Sales Support & Operations

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex internal sales queries.
  • Partner with Account Managers to support client onboarding, share account insights, and manage pipeline activity.
  • Continuously improve internal sales processes to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

 

Account Management

  • Oversee the inbox for Tier 2 accounts, distributing tasks across the team and personally managing key account activities.
  • Handle quoting, cost comparisons, and relationship nurturing to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Identify upselling and growth opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Align closely with field sales to ensure strategic consistency and responsiveness to client needs.

 

Reporting & Insights

  • Monitor and report on team performance, customer service metrics, and sales support activities.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Track customer trends, feedback, and challenges to inform strategic decisions.


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in sales support or account management.
  • Proven management and/or team leadership exposure.
  • Strong leadership and coaching capabilities with a track record of team development.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills across phone, email, and Teams.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personable and able to easily build rapport with colleagues from various departments.
  • This role requires customer interaction as an internal account manager, and will also be a point of escalation, therefore needs to be able to handle conflict professionally and in a calm manner.

Location
