Job Description:

Starting wage is based on experience and shift.  In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer, design systems and manufacturing solutions of firearms for the plant.
  • Improve the manufacturability of products and assist with the introduction of new product lines into production.
  • Design tools and fixtures for the production process.  Specify tools and equipment needed to perform manufacturing operations.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Evaluate new processes, equipment suppliers and technology to facilitate continuous improvement of overall efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with product and design engineers to evaluate the manufacturability of the design of a product, including analyzing the economics of solutions to determine the financial feasibility of a product or design.
  • Attend update meetings with Manufacturing Engineer, line managers and operators to give and receive latest information to stay current on issues.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer to act as project manager on all manufacturing projects.
  • Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer, coordinate with EHS manager, city, county, state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Participate in training as mandated by OSHA standards.  Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant management

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and understand ladder and relay logic
  • Knowledge engineering software like SolidWorks or PLC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Attentive to complex design and detail oriented
  • Self-Motivated and capable of working independently
  • Basic understanding of OSHA, NFPA, EPA and other safety and environmental regulations

Physical Demands:

Associates are frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position can involve sitting, walking and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day.  Job is performed standing all day.  Job requires substantial movement/motion with regard to walking, bending, lifting, grasping and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.

Requirements:

You must be a minimum of 18 years old, and able to pass both a background and drug screen.
