Overview:

The primary role of the Advisor, Enrollment Services is to provide a comprehensive range of services that support student enrollment, retention, and success. This position supports students throughout the enrollment lifecycle, including outreach, recruitment, admissions, academic advising, registration, and financial aid. The Advisor helps students clarify academic and career goals and teaches them how to utilize self-service tools effectively. A strong focus is placed on academic advising, proactive communication, and student retention strategies. The Advisor, Enrollment Services is expected to maintain current knowledge of institutional policies, enrollment regulations, and federal and state financial aid guidelines. Additionally, this position plays a critical role in tracking new student progress, identifying barriers, and implementing interventions to support student persistence and completion. While this position will be primarily housed at the Lincroft campus, services will also need to be provided throughout the year at the regional locations.

Responsibilities:
Academic Advising/First Year Experience
  • Serve as a dedicated advisor to students enrolled in the First Year Experience (FYE) program, providing holistic, personalized support from admission through the first year of college.
  • Utilize student success technologies (e.g., CRM Advise) to track student progress, send proactive communications, and monitor key academic alerts.
  • Conduct outreach and follow-up with students with any early alerts.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic support services to refer students to tutoring, counseling, and other resources as needed.
  • Participate in advising-related programming, such as admitted student days, new student orientation and advising workshops.
Student Retention and Tracking
  • Monitor new student progress during the first term and respond to all alerts.
  • Engage in coordinated outreach campaigns to ensure student progress and success.
  • Follow up with student inquiries related to enrollment processes, academic issues, and support services.
  • Participate in retention initiatives and cross-functional committees focused on improving student persistence. Help students navigate barriers and connect them to appropriate resources for continued support.
Financial Aid/Admissions
  • Provide general financial aid advising, including FAFSA completion, verification, and award explanation.
  • Assist students with understanding Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policies and guide them through SAP appeal processes when needed.
  • Partner with the Financial Aid Office to monitor student issues and follow up on outstanding requirements or concerns.
  • Educate students on billing, payment deadlines, and refund timelines in collaboration with the Cashier’s Office.
  • Guide new students through the steps to enrollment and ensure they are aware of next steps, including testing, registration and orientation.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team on communication plans to support onboarding and conversion efforts.
  • Assist students with online application completion and program selection.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with students fostering student learning, support, and success is required.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Individuals should have superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
  • There should be demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of FERPA regulations required.
  • Individual must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and with ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems.
  • Must be able to travel locally.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

  • Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. 
  • Local travel between the Lincroft and the regional locations is required.
