Job Title: Workday Platform Manager

Location: EMEA/UK Homebased

About the Role

We are seeking a Workday Platform Manager to oversee the management, support, and continuous improvement of Workday and associated applications across BSI. Reporting to the Head of Applications Management, you will lead a global team of IT professionals, ensuring application stability, security, and performance in line with business needs.

This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, a focus on delivering automation and self-service solutions, and the ability to drive efficiency across applications management. As the senior IT representative to business streams and external partners, you’ll play a key part in aligning technology with strategic business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Workday business application landscape is functioning to agreed SLAs while adhering to security policies.

  • Oversee application management, including change, release, fixes, and user administration.

  • Partner with IT Directors and Business Partners to prioritise and schedule activities.

  • Establish and maintain processes, tools, and documentation for effective application support.

  • Provide guidance on security, licensing, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery.

  • Lead investigations and implement solutions for issues, coordinating across IT functions.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and performance targets within the applications function.

  • Act as the escalation point for Change Management and authorise critical releases.

  • Develop organisational capability in systems integration, automation, and continuous improvement.

  • Coach, guide, and lead a global team, building strong relationships across business and IT.

To Be Successful

  • Extensive experience across the full systems development and service management lifecycles.

  • Strong leadership experience managing global IT teams, with a track record of coaching and delivering high performance.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence policy, strategy, and senior stakeholders.

  • Technical expertise in applications management, automation, and security tools.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to align IT initiatives with business priorities.

  • Decision-making skills, balancing risks, priorities, and available resources effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence, persuade, and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
