Position Summary
The EHS & Quality Specialist plays a key role in supporting Ideal Electric’s commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and product quality. This position assists in implementing and maintaining compliance programs, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures.
Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments.
Support incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
Maintain EHS documentation and records in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Coordinate safety training and awareness programs for employees.
Monitor and report on environmental metrics and sustainability initiatives.
Quality Compliance
Support internal quality audits and corrective action processes.
Review and verify supplier certifications and documentation.
Assist in calibration program management and documentation.
Participate in customer audits and support quality-related inquiries.
Help maintain ISO and other regulatory compliance standards.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure quality standards are met.
Assist with Inspections on the production floor when needed.
Use inspection tools (Calipers, Micrometers, etc..) to determine product compliance.
Build Quality Control Plans
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management is desired but not required for this position. Appropriate work experience will be considered in place of degree.
5+ years of experience in EHS or Quality roles in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality/EHS management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Skills
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Certification in EHS or Quality (e.g., OSHA 30, ASQ CQIA) is a plus.
Faro Arm experience is a plus.
Working Conditions
Primarily on-site in a manufacturing environment.
Occasional exposure to industrial noise, machinery, and environmental conditions.
May require use of PPE and participation in safety drills or emergency response.
