Primary Function

The Digital Product Manager will be responsible for full life cycle product management typically of one brand and one channel to include:  the research of the company’s market, competitors’ capabilities and vendor solution offerings; partnering with business channels to deliver technology solutions that achieve business goals; design of product strategy while ensuring buy-in from business leadership and alignment with broader organizational goals; development and maintenance of product roadmaps in partnership with key stakeholders; design of solutions and caretaking of specifications through development and implementation.  This role will also oversee the cycle of feedback, data analysis and resulting continuous process improvement driving future iterations of assigned products.

Principal Duties

  • Product management of assigned custom software assets used by one or more business channels.
  • Partner with assigned business groups to understand specific business and technology needs and priorities. Partner with technology teams to understand their capabilities and development capacity.
  • Own product roadmaps to include input, socialization, feedback and approval from key stakeholders.  Responsible for development, maintenance, and improvements.
  • Manage product backlogs in partnership with the line of business and technology; evaluate and assess requests vs.  needs to facilitate effective prioritization.
  • Drive the process to ensure documentation of product requirements, develop specifications and user stories, design user experiences and interfaces.  Solicit and capture stakeholder suggestions and feedback.
  • Lead product development processes to include sprint grooming/ handoff and UAT. Ensure overall quality of process and timeliness of execution. Drive adherence to Agile principles.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technology leadership; advise on strategy, requirements, specifications, and prioritization. Enable discipline through governance and consultation.
  • Facilitate effective communications; serve as a moderator between business and technology teams to balance priorities, ensure understanding of mutual requirements and enable the best outcome for the business.  Partner closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to foster alignment.
  • Research, evaluate, analyze, and share new capabilities, vendors and solutions; identify financial opportunities and evaluate long-term sustainability.
  • Analyze product and feature performance vs. expectations to identify opportunities and provide recommendations to increase performance, streamline workflow, reduce cost, and improve the user experience. 
  • Utilize analytical approaches to include the tracking and evaluation of data, cost and trends.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Analytics, Finance or related field.
  • 2+ years of mortgage experience resulting in a deep and comprehensive understanding of the mortgage process across multiple channels or specialized to a core component of mortgage operations.
  • 2+ years of digital product management experience to include product development, delivery and ownership.

  • Strong understanding of modern technologies and progressive trends across consumer finance and mortgage.
  • Successful track record of working cross-functionally in a matrix environment to inform, facilitate and drive alignment.
  • Effective vendor assessment and performance management experience.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven ability to cultivate strategic partnerships.
  • Strategic thinking; a creative thinker with the ability to problem solve at a strategic and tactical level.
  • High learning agility; demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility, coupled with the ability to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills; effective decision making skills; ability to appropriately exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Client focused, coupling strategic focus with strong execution skills and a results orientation.
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Integrity, ability to maintain and work with confidential information.
  • Strong business, financial and technical acumen.  Strong Microsoft Office skills to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
