What will the Yard Supervisor do?
Performs all functions according to established policies and procedures. Supports the process of yard supervision to satisfy new and current customer demands by providing the safe securement of vehicles for transport to dealers and customers.
What is the Yard Supervisor responsible for?
- Record any defects or damages on vehicle inspection reports.
- Review and sign off on loads prior to leaving facility.
- Receive, inspect, park, and scan inbound units.
- Daily vehicle inventory.
- Inventory Control.
- Load Audits.
What knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the Yard Supervisor role?
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to prioritize work and complete it with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to detect concerns using analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide positive reinforcement and possess a positive attitude.
- Must possess ability to provide follow up to drivers and dispatch team.
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with dispatch team and auto haulers.
- Possess effective verbal and listening skills.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed dispatchers and drivers.
- Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work on weekends or holidays, as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties. There is the need to frequently walk. There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching for some of his/her job duties. There will also be times where working in inclement weather is required.
Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a telephone console.
Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.
There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 25 lbs.
