How You'll Contribute:
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for leading full-cycle recruiting efforts for both full-time and temporary positions across EquiTrust. This role will work closely with hiring managers, the Total Rewards team, and Human Resources partners to ensure the identification and hiring of top talent in alignment with EquiTrust’s values of Integrity, Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork, and Passion. Position Summary:
The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist leads the full cycle recruiting efforts for open positions at EquiTrust, including full-time and temporary positions. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is expected to partner with hiring managers to identify key characteristics, experience, and qualities that are required from a position and to identify qualified candidates for the position. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist partners collaboratively across the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition team to design programs, systems, and processes that attract and identify top talent, create recruiting pipelines, identify new sources for talent, and foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
What You'll Do:
- Develops sales goals and marketing plans to grow sales and to increase visibility for EquiTrust in partnership with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
- Creates and executes effective business plans for the assigned territory to achieve sales goals.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of existing/targeted organizations/institutions, including key market segments, how they operate, and a keen understanding of their business value proposition, and identifies opportunities for EquiTrust products and solutions.
- Conducts sales training, educating both producer and partner firms on EquiTrust products and solutions.
- Sets strategy and works closely with Internal Wholesalers in identifying, building, and developing relationships.
- Leverages technology tools to identify and develop opportunities.
- Consistently monitors the industry and local competitive landscape for trends and changes. Uses their strong knowledge of the competitive landscape to affect change within EquiTrust for business success.
- Leads formal and informal meetings, in-person and remotely, to develop relationships and promote company products and services.
- Serves as a confident, professional, and adept public speaker on behalf of EquiTrust.
- Develops and maintains profitable, productive relationships to significantly grow sales and market share. Able to anticipate and identify changes before needs arise.
- Supports and participates in various strategic partner firm meetings, sponsorships, and conferences
- Provides guidance and coordination of sales activities with the Internal Wholesalers and Sales Support Team
- Acts as an internal liaison and subject matter expert to provide assistance with administration escalations to provide support and resolve issues.
- Responds to and resolves requests according to EquiTrust policies in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner for external customers, departmental staff, and other personnel at all times.
- Assists the Assistant Vice President, Sales in recruiting and developing new firm opportunities.
- Serves as a lead contact representing EquiTrust to external distribution partners.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and departments as requested.
- Able to accommodate and perform extensive travel, including weekend travel, more than 50% of the time.
- Plans travel and completes expense reports adhering to corporate travel and expense guidelines.
- Supports the Sales and Marketing team and/or other departments on an as-needed basis.
- Willingly takes on additional responsibilities in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
- Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
What You'll Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition leading full-cycle recruiting for permanent and temporary positions required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with direct sourcing experience required.
- Prior experience sourcing utilizing LinkedIn, Indeed or other search platforms required.
- Prior experience with different sourcing tools, techniques and methodologies required.
- Life insurance and/or annuity industry experience is highly preferred.
- Prior experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, UKG Recruiter and/or Indeed preferred.
- Prior experience recruiting and supporting information technology (IT) roles is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers across various departments.
Skilled in identifying top talent aligned with business needs and company culture.
Able to work independently, manage multiple requisitions, and prioritize shifting hiring demands.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience configuring and navigating applicant tracking systems.

- Location: West Des Moines, IA
- Expected Travel: Infrequent travel (less than 5% of the time).
