Your Impact

Do you enjoy networking and establishing relationships? In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement strategic outreach methods while assisting local businesses with talent acquisition. You will serve as a liaison for establishing and cultivating relationships with, but not limited to, participants, employers, and community agencies. 

Primary Objectives of Position: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for establishing and cultivating relationships with participants, employers, and community agencies to achieve project enrollment goals. This position also provides administrative support to project leadership in a variety of areas including Human Resource assistance, training documentation, procurement documentation, accounts payable functions, purchase order request, routing correspondence and reports.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach presentations and represent DESI at community events and job fairs.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified talent.
  • Assist individuals with program enrollment and eligibility assessments.
  • Connect career seekers to job openings, training programs, and career center services.
  • Support employers with talent acquisition, including candidate screening and assessment.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants and employers to verify job placement and retention.
  • Ensure customer records are maintained within legal and company standards.
  • Stay informed on labor market trends and tools to guide career seekers effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or alternative hours as needed.

Requirements

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 1–2 years of experience in a workforce development environment or in coordination/planning roles. An associate (AA) or bachelor’s (BA) degree is preferred and may substitute for some experience.

ExperienceSignificant demonstrable experience in business-to-business marketing or work in a community-based organization.

Skills/Abilities: The ideal candidate will have verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely engage staff, leadership, and external partners through presentations, public speaking, and training sessions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across diverse communities are essential. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of their work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility to work evenings or alternative hours is also necessary.

Additional Requirements: Must have valid driver's license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
