Position: Fall Play Director

Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with the Theatre Selection Committee on programming aligned with the district’s vision and strategic plan.
Schedule audition and selection of cast.
Rehearsals including: blocking, set and costume design, schedule, lead rehearsals and performances.
Build and mentor a production team of staff: sets, props, costumes, make-up, choreography, etc.
Coordinate publicity, program, tickets, etc.
Oversee all aspects of production in collaboration with the Auditorium Technical Director, technical staff, and the Fine Arts Coordinator to support positive student and community experiences.
Oversee entire production from conception through strike.
Direct responsibility for 20+ students.
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in an economically, culturally and racially diverse environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
Ability to operate a personal computer and related software used by the district.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
Qualifications:
Experience as a director in theater productions.
Experience working in a high school setting preferred.
