Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with the Theatre Selection Committee as appropiate, on programming aligned with the district’s vision and strategic plan.
Meet with assistants to plan a schedule.
Work with assistants to plan: set, lights, costume, choreography, props, make- up, etc.
Collaborate with Music Director in the audition process and cast selection.
Prepare for and conduct rehearsals.
Oversee all aspects of production in collaboration with the Auditorium Technical Director, technical staff, and the Fine Arts Coordinator to support positive student and community experiences.
Oversee total production and performances.
Supervise and help strike the set.
Shared responsibility for 40+ students.
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in an economically, culturally and racially diverse environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
Ability to operate a personal computer and related software used by the district.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
Qualifications:
Experience as a director in theater productions.
Experience directing in a school setting
