Position Summary:   

  • Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services 

  • Collects insurance, co-pay and deductibles at Point of Service

  • Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process

  • Provides a positive first impression 

Reports to: Direct Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt 

Required Skills / Essential Functions:

  • Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively as part of a team;

  • Excellent computer skills 

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines

  • Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.

  • Ability to multi-task and remain focused while managing a high-volume, time-sensitive workload

 

Minimum Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED,  Preferred

  • Associate’s degree, Preferred

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

  • Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually
