Position Summary:
Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services
Collects insurance, co-pay and deductibles at Point of Service
Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process
Provides a positive first impression
Reports to: Direct Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Required Skills / Essential Functions:
Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively as part of a team;
Excellent computer skills
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
Ability to multi-task and remain focused while managing a high-volume, time-sensitive workload
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED, Preferred
Associate’s degree, Preferred
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually
