About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Engineer with current Developed Vetting (DV) clearance to support this project with the Ministry of Defence in Corsham. This is a fully onsite role, requiring a hands-on engineer who can design, implement, and manage secure Google Cloud Platform environments in one of the UK’s most critical defence programmes.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect, build, and maintain GCP-based infrastructure aligned with MOD security and compliance standards.
• Collaborate closely with tmc3 engineers, defence stakeholders, and operational teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
• Automate cloud infrastructure deployments using Terraform and other IaC tools.
• Support migration of legacy systems to GCP, ensuring operational integrity and compliance.
• Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot cloud workloads for performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide incident response and resolution for GCP-related issues.
• Produce clear documentation and share knowledge across MOD teams.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Active DV clearance (required).
• Significant experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, and identity/security within GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience working in highly regulated or secure environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  

Desirable:

• GCP certifications (e.g. Professional Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
• Knowledge of containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
