Position Duties

Job Summary: The Auraria Campus Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Supervising Toddler Teacher to lead one of our toddler classrooms. This role is central to our mission of providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and education to young children in a diverse and inclusive campus community. This position follows a consistent schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a one-hour lunch break, supporting a stable and nurturing environment for both staff and children. 
Essential Job Functions: Manages Classroom Program 
  • Plan and implement daily classroom activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that fosters exploration and learning.
  • Coordinate and manage the classroom teaching team to ensure consistency and quality of care.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child progress, classroom updates, and center policies.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center procedures.
Supervise & Guide child development 
  • Observe and assess children's developmental milestones and documents progress.
  • Develop individualized lesson plans and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Support children's social-emotional growth through intentional interactions and guidance.
  • Facilitate transitions, routines, and group activities with sensitivity and structure.
Supervise & assist in training
  • Provide coaching and ongoing support to hourly staff and Assistant Teachers.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor performance to ensure quality care and instruction.
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful team culture within the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

Experience:

  • One year of experience working with children in a licensed child care center, this experience must be clearly documented in the application. 
  • One year of supervisory experience in a licensed child care or early childhood education setting, this experience must be clearly documented in the application. 

Education & Certification:

  • Must be Director-qualified by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care;
    OR
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field, including a minimum of 6 credit hours in early childhood education or a directly related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Lead Teacher certification or equivalent credential.
  • Experience with developmental assessments and curriculum planning.
  • Professional work experience adhering to licensing regulations and maintaining required classroom documentation.
