ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Director of Online Enrollment is responsible for overseeing all aspects of online enrollment, directing the enrollment process from inquiry through enrollment, and leading a collaborative effort to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to meet online enrollment objectives. Additionally, this position supports student recruitment within corporate partnerships to meet workforce needs and to serve as a recruiting channel for the College. The Director supervises the recruitment of prospective students from all sectors including (but not limited to) community colleges, community organizations, and existing corporate partners for successful entry to the College’s programs.
This position is visible to the entire College community and to the public at all levels as it routinely interacts with all constituent groups of the College as well as prospective students.
This is a hybrid position with the expectation of regular in-person meetings with staff. , The position requires the ability to regularly travel to Scranton and Philadelphia and occasionally other locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership, management, and direction for the recruitment efforts of Online Enrollment and develops a competent, productive and effective staff by hiring and supervising departmental personnel.
- Develops enrollment projections and implements strategies in order to meet the College’s recruitment and enrollment goals for new students.
- Is responsible for Online Summer and Winter Session enrollment. Develops, implements, and oversees the college’s successful discounted inter-sessions. Is responsible for yearly growth and meeting financial projections. Develops and manages the implementation of recruiting campaigns including Open Houses, tours, and orientations, which may be held virtually, on campus, and/or off campus.
- Ensures that the online enrollment staff appropriately assists and guides prospective students to identify educational goals, develop educational plans, receive credit for prior learning (to include work experience and other forms of non- traditional learning), evaluate transfer credits and transcripts, and provide information and updates on financial aid, scholarships, and tuition assistance. Oversees the follow-up process of inquiries and applications, the encouragement of students to pay and enroll in classes, and the efficient handover to the advisor group
- Promotes the College’s programs through relationship building with external constituents. Regularly attend and participate in off campus recruiting functions and partner events.
- Effectively administers the college’s prospective and admitted student software systems and databases (e.g., application for admission, CRM, Jenzabar, transfer equivalency) by developing a working knowledge of those systems and processes and procedures. Oversees the College’s prospective student tracking system and makes recommendations for enhancements.
- Meets and exceeds the college’s inquiry, application, and enrollment conversion expectations at all levels on an ongoing basis.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with transfer counselors, enrollment representatives, faculty, staff, and students at articulating institutions. Acts as a liaison between Lackawanna College and prospective students, partner schools, and business and industry partners.,
- Continuously reviews and updates all office procedures ensuring appropriate and accurate documentation of all departmental functions.
- Enforces college policies and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate.
- Ensures marketing materials are up to date and available to for perspective students and partners.
- Serves as a role model in resolving student customer issues in a satisfactory fashion and provides the customer with a superior experience in transacting business with the College and its representatives.
- Analyzes enrollment data and reports for the achievement of the College’s online enrollment goals. Adjusts enrollment practices and coaches online enrollment staff accordingly.
- Demonstrates a willingness to serve and represent online enrollment team on various committees throughout the College
- Develops and oversees Online Enrollment budget
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Marketing or related field required; Master’s Preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience as a Director of Admissions or Enrollment Management in Higher Ed required.
- International student experience preferred.
- Experience building a recruitment plan to fill cohorts of programmatic enrollment.
- Proven track record of success in undergraduate/graduate recruitment.
- Experience in identifying and defining institutional challenges.
- Prior supervisory experience in a non-traditional educational setting is preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting for extended periods of time with regular use of the computer and phone for most aspects of the job duties.
- Involves frequent contact with members of the College community, alumni, and external community.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple high-priority items.
