Position Summary Responsible for the execution of the Garden Center Live Goods merchandising program in Home Depots across Central Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. Regional Managers provide oversight, leadership, and support to a team of 5-6 District Managers. Acts as a company liaison, providing information and guidance to client regional management and store teams. Maintains ongoing communications with Merchandising Service Operations Manager regarding Regional progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of the Garden Center Live Goods service program throughout region
- Trains and develops District Managers according to company expectations
- Provides oversight to District Managers in the staffing process according to budgetary needs
- Provides ongoing communication, direction, and leadership to District Managers
- Follows all company safety protocols to maintain a safe working and shopping environment
- Builds and maintains productive working relationships with merchandising teams, live goods suppliers, store staff, and client merchants/operations managers throughout the region
- Provides updates and feedback to facilitate product sales throughout region
- Maintains a professional and customer-friendly attitude
- Follows customer and vendor policies and procedures in daily work routine
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to include people management and development
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrates relevant leadership, communication, and facilitation skills
- Ability to carefully follow directions while paying strong attention to detail
- Commitment to following all safety requirements and recommendations
- Ability to learn and embrace company software and business-related applications
- Experience in The Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to embrace new technology
- Willingness to embrace company culture
- Must reside within designated region
- Extensive travel with some overnights required
- Flexible availability, including weekends and key holidays according to business needs
- Must pass criminal background check
- Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language
- Must provide valid driver’s license and proof of required insurance coverage and pass the company’s required Motor Vehicle Report requirements
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Will travel by motorized vehicle for extended periods of time
- Air travel may be required according to business needs
- Will work outdoors, sometimes under adverse weather conditions
- Will work in an indoor environment using standard office equipment
- Capable of fulfilling all physical requirements for merchandising
