The Data & Analytics Manager at the Credit Union of Colorado will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making. This role is a blend of hands-on work and leadership, ensuring that our data governance and analytics initiatives align with the Credit Union's strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
· Data & Analytics Initiatives
o Act as a strategic advisor, gathering and synthesizing insights from various business units to understand and anticipate their data and analytical needs, driving the creation of data products that empower decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.
o Translate business needs into data requirements, meticulously refining and prioritizing these necessities for the Data & Analytics team, ensuring that projects align with the company's strategic goals and deliver maximum impact.
o Work in close collaboration with the Director of Data & Analytics to influence the selection and implementation of cutting-edge tools, including BI tools, ETL processes, and data management platforms, ensuring they are optimally tailored to support and enhance our data strategy.
o Administer various data tools and platforms, managing user access, security protocols, and usage to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
o Lead quality assurance, establishing rigorous processes and standards to guarantee the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data, thereby fostering a culture of trust in our data systems.
o Oversee the change management process, ensuring that updates, new releases, and changes to data systems are smoothly and responsibly deployed, with minimal disruption and clear communication to all stakeholders.
o Cultivate a learning environment within the team, promoting knowledge sharing, professional development, and staying abreast of industry innovations and best practices in data management and analytics.
o Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data initiatives, including project plans, status updates, and technical aspects, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information.
o Champion the team's agile practices to enhance speed, flexibility, and collaborative productivity in project execution. Ensure all team members are fully engaged and understand their roles within this framework, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Data Governance
o Lead initiatives for data quality management, focusing on the creation and launch of user-centric, high-quality data assets that align with our objectives for data democratization.
o Establish a collaborative relationship with IT and business units to articulate and define the vision and strategy for data quality. This includes setting clear data quality standards, identifying key metrics, and outlining comprehensive processes.
o Collaborate with the Data Governance Committee to continuously refine the Data Quality and Governance roadmap, ensuring robust protocols for data ingestion, consistent quality standards throughout the data lifecycle, and strict adherence to data compliance norms.
o Serve as a liaison with internal stakeholders across various departments synthesizing their requirements and crafting balanced, 'right-sized' data solutions.
o Take a hands-on approach to stay abreast of key developments in privacy regulations and data protection laws, ensuring our systems and policies reflect the latest compliance standards.
· Team Leadership and Development
o Responsible for the daily operations of the Data & Analytics team.
o Drive team performance by conducting regular performance evaluations, setting clear objectives, and ensuring that team members have the resources and support necessary to achieve their goals.
o Act as an enabler for the team, identifying and removing roadblocks that may impede progress, and and act as a point of escalation for team issues.
o Encourage innovation and maintain team morale by recognizing achievements, celebrating successes, and facilitating team-building activities.
· Operational Support
o Assist in key Data & Analytics projects, contributing to tasks such as developing reports and dashboards, and building data pipelines to ensure consistent progress and quality outcomes.
o Engage directly in technical tasks, including coding for data analysis and troubleshooting, to support the team's analytical capacity and maintain the reliability of data systems.
o Collaborate with team members, providing hands-on guidance and technical expertise, and stepping in to help navigate workload surges, ensuring continuity and efficiency in project delivery.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor of Science in a STEM field
· One (1) years’ experience leading a technical team. Or demonstrated responsibility progression in current and prior roles suggesting readiness for a leadership role.
· Five (5) years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, information technology or related field
· Knowledge of statistics, data modeling, and forecasting
· Proficiency with data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
· Experience with data preparation (e.g. Tableau Prep, Talend, Alteryx, Python etc.)
· Experience working with cloud computing and a variety of data types
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience with the most current technologies, products and solutions used in the industry.
Preferred Platform/Software include:
· Databricks or Snowflake
· Azure (DevOps, Blob, Virtual Machines)
· Tableau or PowerBI
· T-SQL and semi structured data
· Talend Studio or Python
