Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the lead instructor to review and/or update curriculum as necessary and create applicable course content appropriate to the audience.
- Work with the lead instructor to determine, review, and/or update course materials and teaching aids.
- Identify books and materials for instructional use, assist instructors to ensure understanding and proper delivery of curriculum.
- Determine and prepare course content.
- Ensure completeness and necessary and required procedures are met in order to be in compliance with Federal, State, and County laws.
- Work with the lead Instructor to determine course scheduling.
- Teach butchery and other related courses.
- Monitor and/or assist with class days.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Expertise in subject matter.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with meat and poultry laws.
- Detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple duties with demanding deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate numerous projects at the same time.
- Familiar with the Hawaii Island community and its resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, on occasion.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal insured vehicle.
- Possess computer skills with commonly used professional software.

- Experience working with community and industry.
- Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
- Demonstrated commitment and/or experience promoting equity and a diverse workforce/academic environment.
