We currently seek a full-time Program Coordinator to join our Marcus Garvey and The Rise team! Our Marcus Garvey and The Rise teams support our Supportive Housing programs and clients.
The Program Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day operations for the Marcus Garvey I & The Rise / Supportive housing programs. The Program Coordinator will ensure successful achievement of assigned program/service goals and objectives; maintains superior customer relations with appropriate program constituencies; and demonstrates collaborative partnerships among organizational staff and participants. The Program Coordinator is expected to report on-site to our Marcus Garvey I site 4 days a week and to our The Rise site 1 day a week.
Salary Range: $60,000- $65,000 annually
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Housing, objectives and work plans. Implements work activities to meet goals, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of results.
- Participates in the development of program activities and continually evaluates the quality of services provided.
- Supervise Case Managers and Program Assistant at Marcus Garvey I and a Case Manager at The Rise.
- Develops systems and procedures to assure compliance with program requirements.
- Evaluates the program against planned objectives; formulates corrective action plans and implements measures to ensure that the highest standards of care are being met.
- Oversee the dissemination of educational materials and programming that supports Older Adults, and makes sure that all information about the organization is being provided clearly and accurately to the participants
- Delegate work assignments and collaborate with staff and volunteers who assist in carrying out assigned activities. Provides guidance and feedback to enhance staff abilities. Provides direct supervision to staff
- Recruit, develop and motivate volunteers who participate in meeting organizational goals and objectives
- Locate and maintain a participant base. Provide participant services and ensure the highest level of service delivery
- Draft correspondence documents and reports to validate program/service processes
- Manage relationships with contractors and program managers across multiple funding sources
- Provide direct supervision to assigned direct reports
- Develop and conduct in-service training for staff to enhance their knowledge and support their professional development. Schedule for all program staff to be appropriately trained to facilitate all curricula delivered during group sessions.
- Ensure that staff define and implement a service plan based on the client’s needs and that these plans are entered into the ECM Data Platform.
- Ensures that the program complies with contractual agreements
- Observe program groups and services to establish a quality assurance process to make certain that group curriculum is accurate. Responsible for monthly facility calendars
- Backup support for group facilitation, when needed.
- Participates in interdepartmental meetings to increase awareness of various program services and updates
- Work with Program Analyst to make certain that weekly and monthly reports and other documents related to the program are accurate and submitted in a timely fashion. This includes scanning, emailing documents and submitting original documentation to the Data team for entry into ECM, the Osborne data system.
- Attend required trainings
- In-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-workers. This position is expected to be on site 4 days at Marcus Garvey I site and 1 day at The Rise site.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Services, Public Administration or Criminal Justice preferred, In lieu of a degree, High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in Human Services, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Social work or related field with two to five years of progressive program/service management experience in a social service setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Non-profit experience is strongly preferred, with understanding of the criminal justice environment.

- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships
