To assure the smooth and efficient operation of all HVAC equipment in order that the students may have a comfortable and safe environment in which to pursue educational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High School Diploma GED and /or the following
Formal or technical training provided by industry
Two year HVAC/Control Degree from an accredited college or trade school
CFC certification required
Valid Texas Driver’s License with less than three moving violations within the past three years
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Possess basic knowledge to interpret manufacturer’s manual on operation, repair and maintenance
Be aware of safety precautions used in EM/HVAC environments.
EXPERIENCE:
3 – 5 years successful experience in HVAC work.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible to HVAC supervisor under the direction of the Director, Energy Management for job performance.
Receives and follows through with work orders received from HVAC supervisor.
Maintain air conditioning equipment.
Maintain ventilation and air handling equipment.
Maintain the control mechanisms for EM/HVAC equipment as needed.
Assist in training an adequate inventory of supplies, materials and tools.
Operates work vehicle to and from work destinations and accepts responsibilities for proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicle and equipment assigned to use.
Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands:
When working with electricity, heavy equipment and climbing ladders, scaffolding, including working around machinery with moving parts you must be mentally alert at all times.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
Climbing, kneeling, standing, walking
Repeated bending and reaching above the shoulders
Good depth perception due to working at heights on ladders and roofs
Frequent heavy lifting and carrying of up to 100 lbs.
Respiratory risks in dealing with filter media and cutting media
Working in hot or cold environments both inside and outside of facilities.
