Job Description:

Position Summary:

LGC seeks an exceptional Toolmaker who emphasizes precision and creativity. Working closely with diverse teams is crucial for this position, providing opportunities to engage in highly ambitious projects and enhance our renowned engineering team.

Areas of Responsibility: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. You will determine the best processes to build flawless tools, ensuring our products compete at the highest level.

Essential Functions

  • Source and acquire tooling and raw materials, including replacement inventories, to support R&D Toolmaker operations.
  • Proficient in Drawing & CAM Software: Must be proficient in Solidworks drafting and various CAM packages, and familiar with G&M code programming.
  • Examination and Essential GD&T Understanding: Accountable for examining own components with a basic grasp of GD&T and how it relates to the tasks.
  • Work closely with R&D team to produce prototype parts, skilled at translating basic ideas into testable components.
  • Tape Production Tooling: Work directly with Consumables Production on developing new and replacing existing embossing press tooling and spare parts, ensuring the quality of finished parts.
  • Equipment Service and Manufacturing Parts: Build or repair machine parts for service and equipment manufacturing, responsible for inspection and quality of own parts.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience with a two-year machining technical degree.
  • Two years of demonstrated work experience in a related machine shop field.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, symbols, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Capable of understanding the customer’s end goal and delivering a workable solution with little supervision.
  • Solid understanding of machine shop principles and technical expertise in a variety of raw materials, such as plastics and metals.
  • Estimating Skills: Proficient in estimating time, materials, and processes required to complete machined parts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree with skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Possess five years of background as a toolmaker or toolroom machinist.
  • GD&T Certified

Technology/Equipment Skills:

  • Experience with CMM equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

This role's primary location is within a manufacturing machine shop environment that will require accurate PPE usage as supplied by the employer.

Additional Information:

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: $28.00 USD per hour 

Maximum: $33.00 USD per hour 

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, skills, and location.
