National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.


Job Title: Senior Maintenance Manager

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Maintenance Administration

Reports To: Director of Maintenance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled aircraft maintenance.
  • Develops and monitors maintenance forecasting.
  • Tracks expenses for projects. 
  • Provides support for parts procurement, maintenance technicians, line service and general administration.
  • Ensure technicians are following prescribed procedures I/A/W technical manual system, operating procedures, and corporate policies.
  • Maintains a general knowledge of all work and inspections being performed.
  • Assists in scheduling and assigning technicians to tasks that most effectively utilize their skill levels.
  • Ensures currency of service manuals, instructions, bulletins, airworthiness directives, and aircraft
  • Maintains overall clean, organized, and professional maintenance facility and personnel.
  • Oversees large multi-faceted projects. 
  • Ensures implementation of new processes are put in use and are being followed per guidelines set forth.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports and timecards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to learn and use technical manuals, good mechanical aptitude and ability solve problems effectively.
  • Good leadership qualities and ability to work alone making good decisions under pressure.
  • Good communication skills verbal, written and via email.
  • Organized self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Must be able to prioritize effectively.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Have 5 years of experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity
  • Extensive experience in project management
  • Experience with Fleet types, ETOPS, LMP, Required

Mental Requirements:

  • Analytical skills and good judgment/decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to use/learn Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel at a basic level.
  • Must be able to learn new computer software programs related to maintenance, aircraft records and inventory.

Travel/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel for maintenance activities and/or aircraft familiarization and troubleshooting.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
  • Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
