Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for an Electrical Engineer Manager to join our engineering team to support projects across the Rowan data center project portfolio. The Electrical Engineering Manager is a critical part of the technical team that will help support all aspects of the Rowan approach from site origination through operations of data centers, substations, and power distribution. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects in the data center industry as a licensed Professional Engineer. The successful candidate will also have excellent strategic thinking skills, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings or for site visits.

Location: Denver, CO (hybrid in-office role)

Compensation: $130-$165K (Offers Bonus)

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes. Multiple projects, programs, or portfolio focused for the engineering team

  • Owns and deliver areas of work in service of annual goals of the team. Independently identifies solutions to solve ambiguous, open-ended problems. Helps guide the team and seeks and integrates feedback openly. Works primarily with cross-functional partners while driving cross-team collaboration

  • Lead, direct, and manage consultants in the design, procurement, and coordination of the data center, substation, and power distribution infrastructure. Identify risks during all stages of the project lifecycle

  • As a technical SME, mold design, project scope, schedule, and deliverables to meet client and Rowan requirements for Build-to-Suit and Turnkey projects

  • Partner with procurement to deliver the equipment required for the success of Rowan projects

  • Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design, construction, and operations. Review bids for conformance with the requirements of the RFP. Provide clarification on technical requirements

  • Integrate with the energy team to coordinate with the identified utilities. Act as the technical liaison between the consultant and the utility

  • Support the growth of the engineering team and of Rowan by helping to establish engineering standards and processes as we scale

  • Demonstrate a customers are our North star mentality. Earning, nurturing, and creating trust and relationships with utilities and client technical experts

  • Mentor the engineering team to grow the teams collective expertise

  • Support other technical tasks not listed as required

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • 6+ years experience in industrial, commercial or substation design with 3 years specific to mission critical or substations required with 8+ years and 5+ in mission critical or substation work preferred

  • Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation

  • Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJ’s and utilities

  • Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of data center industry and trends

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience of proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu

  • The Rowan team collaborates constantly; however, the successful candidate should be comfortable working independently
