The Role: Financial Operations Analyst
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Operations Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the Club’s financial future by owning the forecasting process and driving innovation in financial reporting. This position will also assist with daily accounting functions, budgeting, compliance, and Member billing—while acting as the project coordinator for the Club’s upcoming financial dashboard implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Club’s forecasting analysis, producing accurate weekly, monthly, and seasonal forecasts to guide staffing, payroll allocation, and operational planning.
- Analyze forecast vs. actual performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with IT to design and implement a real-time financial dashboard (Power BI or similar).
- Provide leadership with user-friendly reporting (charts, graphs, and labor insights).
- Support full-cycle accounting functions including AP, AR, Member billing, collections, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, monthly close, and year-end processes.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, SOX, and other standards.
- Collaborate with the Controller and CFO on financial strategy, vendor agreements, and capital projects.
- Contribute ideas, solutions, and best practices to continually improve processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience (hospitality/club industry experience a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency essential).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, ethics, and confidentiality in all aspects of work.

Position Description Summary
This critical position will help the Clubs to improve accurate business forecasting to support the Management Team and achieve Club goals. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will assist in managing accounting functions, financial reporting, data analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance. The Financial Operations Analyst owns Club forecasting and serves as the project coordinator for the Club’s financial dashboard implementation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Forecasting Analysis: In conjunction with club leadership, produce weekly, monthly, and seasonal Business Forecasts on an advance 20-week cycle, providing accurate numbers based on prior year actuals (such as Daily Dining Covers Per Outlet, Daily Golf Rounds, Weekly Guest Pass Holder Counts, Pool Usage, Fitness Center Usage, Tennis & Pickleball Usage, and Welcome Center Gate Activity) for leadership to staff strategically, allocate payroll resources, and help to develop accurate club staffing guides.
- Manage Data Analysis of Forecast vs Actual Accuracy and Variance
- In conjunction with IT, help to build a real-time analytics dashboard using Power BI or similar
- Coordinate with relevant teams and departments in the creation of the dashboard that is user-friendly and practically useable
- Provide Club leadership with regular reporting, providing helpful information regarding labor and payroll costs that include charts, graphs, and other user-friendly formats.
- Regularly communicate upcoming forecasts in a timely & professional manner, to aid leadership in scheduling according to volume based on historical data
- Drive the software function of the Accounting team, ensuring innovation, ease of use, and integration between systems
- Provide support and backup for the Accounts Payable including reconciling vender statements, tracking capital projects
- Provide support and backup for the Accounts Receivable function including, processing Member payments, billing adjustments
- Execute member collections procedures, including email notices and phone calls
- Prepare monthly Member billing and statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly and annual dues billing
- Reconcile bank statements on a timely basis
- Assist Controller and CFO with month-end journal entries and closing process
- Special projects as assigned by the Controller and CFO
- Help to develop and execute financial strategy for the Clubs on Bald Head Island to support the financial goals for the Clubs established by the CFO
- Update financing plans and negotiate loans, leases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Work with IT to oversee all accounting systems and club software, ensuring they are up- to-date, and in compliance with GAAP and all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Boards, Internal Revenue Services, Attorney Generals, SOX Compliance, & other relevant regulations
- Review and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial statements and reports, updating the team on each Club’s financial performance.
- Provide solutions and best practices regarding opportunities, risks, and weaknesses
- Assist Accounting team, Directors, and Managers with the development of annual budgets and financial plans for both Clubs and the combined entity.
- Review month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy
- Complete all assignments, tasks, duties, and projects, as assigned by the CFO & Controller
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with all staff, Members, and vendors
- Comply with all federal, state, and local financial requirements, keeping up to date with new legislation and compliance directives

Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field from accredited institution required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience. Preferably in the
- Hospitality/Country Club industry, working knowledge of GAAP.
