GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for developing relationships with warehouses across the country. The Account Manager (Warehousing) will leverage relationships and knowledge to secure customer warehousing needs and negotiate pricing across the country along with continually onboarding new warehousing vendors to expand Crane Solutions footprint across North America. Works closely with Account Managers and Account Executives and Carrier Sales Representatives to ensure customer/warehousing expectations are achieved. This individual will report directly to the Senior Operations Manager of Crane Solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop relationships across the country with warehouses with the goal of increasing warehousing options for Crane Solutions and their customers.  This will include some travel.
  • Develop relationships with warehouses to understand their capabilities and pricing structure to secure the customers needs and competitive pricing.
  • Work closely with Account Managers, Account Executives and Carrier Sales Representatives to understand customer requirements and collaboratively develop solutions to increase business levels.
  • Work as intermediary for communication between customers and peers to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage all warehousing requests and follow up to insure that the customer needs are met.
  • Reviews warehousing service levels to ensure key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Develop corrective action plans with  warehouses when performance is below expectation.
  • Collaborate with peers and utilize tools provided to further increase Crane Solutions'  warehousing portfolio.
  • Escalate all potential warehouses service failures to Account Management and resolve issues as they arise (which may include nights and weekends).
  • Provide pricing guidance for RFP's and pricing requests.
  • Provide market intelligence reporting to Account Management and Leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Job will require regular and punctual attendance as well as presence on-site at the assigned work location.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrates effective negotiation skills
  • Detailed understanding of the truckload industry to include equipment types, carrier capabilities, pricing and regulations
  • Strong understanding of US Geography 
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Works well in a team environment

EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED/Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years' warehousing/sales/transportation experience or combination of any two.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION

Certification may be required in some areas.
