The QA Inspector will inspect products manufactured or processed by HYDAC to ensure compliance to contract specifications. This position has three (3) levels; A, B, and C. Level C is an entry level position and Level A is the highest. In order to be considered for Level A or B the employee must meet the requirements of all lower levels.

Level C is an entry level position and Level A is the highest. In order to be considered for Level A or B the employee must meet the requirements of all lower levels. 


You will make an impact and be successful in this role with the following skills and responsibilities:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

LEVEL C:

  • Performs incoming inspection of selected purchased goods and fabricated products.
  • Process quality related documentation including certifications.
  • Follows QSP-0002 to process non-conforming material.
  • Performs audits and inspection of stock (raw material and finished goods) as directed.
  • Uses inspection equipment such as pin gages, ring gages, thread gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.to accomplish metrology of product features.
  • Completes inspection dimensional reports.
  • Compile certification documents for finished goods.

LEVEL B:

  • Performs outgoing inspections of selected products.
  • Accomplished testing and evaluation of returned goods. Determines causes of failures. Documents the results in an evaluation report.
  • Disassembles, repairs, or rebuilds returned goods as directed.
  • Perform in-house calibration of selected test and measurement tools and equipment.
  • Perform internal product, process, and system audits.
  • Assist with finished product certification activities.
  • When requested, assist and support manufacturing personnel and activities.
  • Performs inspection on returned goods and products and assists in customer complaint investigations.
  • Drafts Corrective Action Requests (CARs), *d, or other similar Quality documents with input and review from Supervisor.

LEVEL A:

  • Completes Quality documents such as Corrective Action Reports, "8-D's" to document investigation and resolution of Quality      issues independently with minimal or no Supervisory input or review.
  • Assist Level C and B inspectors in various tasks as requested.

Skills and Attributes

LEVEL C:

  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance.
  • Ability to write reports. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and determine if products are conforming to specifications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to use database software, manufacturing software and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge and use of standard test and measurement tools and equipment including hand tools.

LEVEL B:

  • The ability to troubleshoot returned goods and determined root cause of failure.

LEVEL A:

  • Ability to work independently on the handling of QA related non-conformances.
  • Ability to present findings in written and verbal format.

 
 

Education and Experience

LEVEL C:

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months related experience in an industrial environment.

LEVEL B: 

  • Must have 2 years' experience in a manufacturing industrial environment.

LEVEL A:

  • 2-year degree in manufacturing related field such as Manufacturing Technology, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering,

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

  • Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
  • Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.
