Description: Ellington Public Schools is seeking applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Center School.
Job Summary: Successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the school office; assist the Principal in fulfilling the assigned duties and responsibilities; work without direct supervision; and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
Qualifications: Applicants must have good inter-personal/communication skills, contribute to a positive work environment, and be able to effectively communicate with parents, staff, and the general public. Applicants should have excellent office and computer skills, be able to create publications, have bookkeeping experience, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Applicants will also be expected to develop proficiency using G Suite, as well as other software that supports the office functions. Must have good organizational skills, share workload as needed, be able to multi-task, and meet deadlines. Confidentiality is critical.
Successful candidate will be required to submit to a state and national criminal history check, as well as DCF review as is required by Connecticut state statute. Previous work in a school system is a plus.
Working Conditions: This is a full-time, 12-month position. Starting salary is consistent with the EESS contract, Administrative Assistant I. This is a contracted position and includes benefits.
