Chief Buildings is seeking an HR Assistant to join the Chief team. This positionprovides essential administrative support to the Human Resources and Safety Departments, as well as other operational teams within the Chief Buildings plant. This role requires handling sensitive employee information with confidentiality and discretion. Strong communication skills are critical, as the assistant will help coordinate career fairs, participate in community outreach events, and assist in planning and executing company-wide activities. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and capable of fostering positive interactions across departments and with external partners.
Job Responsibilities:
·Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
·Support Chief Buildings’ internal hiring and recruitment efforts by registering and assisting in preparation of career fairs. Represent and explain recruitment program to potential applicants during career fairs and outreach events.
·Assist the HR Payroll Administrator in coordinating employee engagement activities, including scheduling, communications, event promotion, setup, cleanup, and post-event follow-up.
·Help distribute and collect sensitive documentation related to employee benefits. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling and entering sensitive data.
·Operate basic office equipment and maintain items such as computer, copy machine, phone system, and scanner. Assist employees in the operation of such equipment.
·Distribute employee engagement surveys and compile collected data for review and analysis.
·Prepare new hire packets and welcome kits. Serve as a backup for onboarding processes and help develop introductory materials for new team members.
·Maintain various logs and reports to support HR and Safety operations, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
·Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability.
Education:
High School Diploma, or GED, required.
A college degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent experience in HR support or administrative roles may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
·Basic understanding of human relations.
·Experience using basic office equipment such as computers, multi-line phone system, scanner, and copy machine required.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
·Experience using full Microsoft Office 365 Suite or comparable program preferred.
