Description

This position serves as a key member of the finance team and leads the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function for the company.  It is accountable for  analyzing and reporting financial performance, developing and monitoring variance to the annual budget and monthly forecast, and assisting company and site leadership in identifying financial performance trends and driving action. FP&A is also responsible for supporting month-end close, target costing projects, and margin analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance, identify areas of risk and opportunity and make recommendations to leadership for improvements
  • Prepare and maintain financial models and tools
  • Ensure that standard costs are accurate in the bill of materials
  • Review and resolve variances
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
  • Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
  • Analyze actual manufacturing cost data, and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Assist with month end close of the General Ledger
  • Participate in or supervise physical inventories and monitor cycle count program
  • Participate in the annual budget development and monthly forecast process
  • Confer with other managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Prepare reports and present results with action plan to support success
  • Mentor subordinate staff
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts.
  • Accepts and adapts easily to change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent education and experience required
  • 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment  preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principals
  • Expert level Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
  • Experience with database querying methods and tools
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
  • Sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
